Junior Research Fellowship 2012-13: Liberal Theology and "the Jews"
The Centre for the Study of Jewish-Christian Relations wishes to appoint a Junior Research Fellow for one year to assist the Academic Director, Lars Fischer, in establishing a research project on Liberal Theology and “the Jews” for which he has been awarded a British Academy Small Research Grant, and to undertake original research relevant to the project.

“Has Europe Lost its Soul?” Chief Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks delivers Rome Lecture
On the 12th December the Woolf Institute co-hosted a lecture by Chief Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks on the question "Has Europe Lost its Soul?" This lecture marked the occasion of the Chief Rabbi's private audience with His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI, an audience faciliated by the Woolf Institute's director Dr Edward Kessler.

The Woolf Institute is pleased to announce the publication of Jews and Christians: Perspectives on Mission. This resource has been written by the Revd. Patrick Morrow, Rabbi Reuven Silverman and Prof. Daniel Langton and discussed in meetings of the Lambeth Jewish Forum, an informal meeting of Jews with Christians from the Church of England.

On Tuesday 11th October Dr Edward Kessler and Prof Gavin D'Costa delivered papers on the place of mission in Christian-Jewish Relations at Bristol University's Theology Faculty. Approximately 50 attended the seminar, the highest attendance in many years.

Intertwined Worlds Conference
The Centre for the Study of Muslim-Jewish Relations in conjunction with the Cambridge University Centre of Islamic Studies held a three day symposium Intertwined Worlds at Selwyn College, Cambridge University from 11-13 September 2011. The highlight of the event was an address by the Chief Rabbi, Lord Jonathan Sacks, marking the 10th anniversary of September 11th.
